About the Webmaster
Alright then, here's a proper introduction!
I'm Nexus as you already know, the webmaster of this place! I'm not too big on nicknames (although Nex is *fine*), so preferably just call me that.
I'm a man and I just go by he/him (I really don't know what else to say here but it looks really weird when it's not as long as the other paragraphs. Okay, problem fixed!).
I was born on 12th of April and I consider 12 to be like, my lucky number or something of the sort. It's been following me my entire life and I find even numbers oddly (or, *even*ly... Get it? Get it, cause odd and even numbers...? Anyone?) satisfying. I'm sorry for that one.
My typing is INTJ 5w4 RLOEI LFVE True Neutral and since this is moreso supposed to be a section about *me*, I'll spare you the infodump and I'll redirect you to the good old internet for any description you'll want with that.
I am Czech and I speak Czech as well, though I've known English since forever and I'd say I can get by. Languages I am NOT confident with at the moment are German and Japanese - both I am learning at a snail-like speed.
I study computer science with a focus on cybersecurity and networking. I'm somewhat interested in coding (like, in general, not just HTML/CSS stuff) but I wouldn't say I'm super passionate about it. I like seeing results though and it does give me a nice dopamine rush to make something come to life with code but, again, I'm no pro. Probably don't ask me for complex advice when it comes to that. I do not know what I'm doing. I prefer the theoretic parts of computer science in general.
I don't tend to reply to DMs often, since it overwhelms me to talk to so many people all at once. They're always open and I promise I'll eventually see your message and reply, but don't expect it to be regular - although, I do try! Just be patient and know it's nothing personal at all. I love listening to people ramble just as much as I love rambling myself :-D
I'm very specific about how I spend my time and how I interact with people. I could be described as a bit of an antisocial and I find it hard to know how to act around people in general, but I emphasize that I tend to enjoy conversations and I do my best to respond in due time. My head is often stuck in an ultra productive mindset and it prevents me from spending time with people or texting with them. This is why you'll see me talk more in servers! Chipping in at my own pace.
I have been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome and social anxiety as well, both of which impact a lot of my behavior (I know, how unexpected). I hope to be as approachable as I can be, but I'm certainly not perfect. If you're ever uncertain about something regarding what I said, or how I feel about something, please don't be afraid to ask! I may politely decline if I feel uncomfortable, but that's really all that can happen.
Another thing to keep in mind about me is also that I am chronically ill. My main diagnosis is lupus and it's something that affects me daily. I tend to feel exhausted after doing very little, which means that I don't get to draw nearly as often as I'd like to, play as often as I'd like to and socialize or go out. Since lupus is *still* a disease with very little coverage, I plan to dedicate a corner on this website to it in due time.
We'll definitely get along if you have passions and dreams and if you enjoy thinking about things beyond surface-level or very likely, if you share some interests with me. Being kind is, however, more than enough to be friends. I love discussions and I'm very supportive of open self-expression, no matter if it aligns with my tastes. I try to give as much advice as I can whenever I can, I'm often the first to jump to help with things I understand and I like watching people grow (and growing right beside them). I build my relationships on respect for each other and I think of it as a strong foundation for anything meaningful. This means that I don't really like people who throw words around without consequence or make too many personal jokes. I do not want to put up any sort of "do not interact" though as I've realized that labels don't tell me nearly enough about the person to be able to judge.
I am proud of many things about myself and I think that everyone should be a little proud of themselves too. I don't mind complaining about things (there's a lot to complain about in the world) but I don't enjoy talking to people who are overly critical of people (INCLUDING themselves!!). I don't really thrive in sad and stressful enviroments.
I don't like social media and I stray away from it except for various chatrooms and forums. The only reason for me to even log into my social media accounts tends to be posting artwork, but I don't mind being sent stuff! I just try to be mindful of how I spend my time and I hate to spend it doomscrolling.
I practice a "think before you speak" mindset and I would consider myself to be a relatively calm guy. I don't participate in nor enjoy discourse, I don't care about discourse and while I have used the block button around two times maximum in my entire life, I will not hesitate to block you or ignore you if you have the tendency to unnecessarily start conflicts. Talking about something (or creatively expressing yourself) doesn't equal endorsing it and I am strictly against chat control, censorship and other attempts at limiting (not only digital) privacy and freedom this way.
Wait, you really read all this? Daaaaaaaaamn!! Get this guy in some kinda literature club!!!!
